𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗞𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝟭𝟯𝘁𝗵 - 𝟭𝟵𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝘆 This morning, the academy welcomed Carlisle West Neighbourhood Police team as part of their national week of knife crime enforcement (Op Sceptre). The main aim of their visit was to teach our students about the dangers and risks of knife crime and to wand/search bags as the students entered the school building. This showed our students how robust the police are about knife crime in schools and that they have the powers to do these types of searches under the Education Act. Cumbria Police #madeinmorton

11 Year 8 girls were selected to play in an U13 Cricket Tournament at Edenside on Thursday. The students took part in 3 different coaching sessions improving their batting, bowling, and fielding, before playing in a friendly Tournament. All the girls put in an exceptional effort and seen their cricket skills develop throughout the day, increasing their knowledge of batting and fielding with each game they played. A brilliant day was had by all, well done girls! Mrs Nugent. #teammorton #madeinmorton #girlscricket

The U14 Girls football team were in action last Wednesday against Central Academy. An early goal from Erin B put the girls in a good position, allowing some strong attacking play, opening up a chance for Abbie H who scored the 2nd goal. Two late goals from Central increased the pressure, but some quality saves from Ruby G and a final goal from Abbie H sealed a 3-2 Victory. Well done girls fantastic performance by all!
