Morton Academy has improved year on year since joining United Learning in 2014; the number of students achieving five good GCSEs including English and Maths has increased, and it is now an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ school.
As the Academy’s Principal, I can genuinely say that it is a pleasure and privilege to come to work. Every day, my colleagues and I have the opportunity to make an actual, positive difference to the life chances and futures of young people.
We benefit from a state-of-the-art learning environment which allows us to offer a student centred, dynamic and exciting school experience that supports the highest standards of academic, vocational and personal achievement. We are the school of choice for the students in our community, and have a strong and stable leadership team and staff who are taking the school forward at pace.
We are committed to offering every student in our care a happy and supportive education so that each develops, learns and achieves with confidence and enthusiasm. As part of United Learning, we share an ethos summed up in the aim to bring out the best in everyone. And, at Morton Academy, that is exactly what we are looking to do; give every student the skills, education and ambition to be the very best they can be.
We would be delighted to welcome you to our Academy.
Our student centred, dynamic and exciting learning environment supports the highest standards in academic, vocational and personal achievements so that all our students surpass their individual potential and are prepared for adult and working life in the 21st Century.
We encourage our students to be aspirational and to make informed decisions about their path in life by providing a supportive and personalised structure for them to develop within. We take time to know each of our students and through our community ethos are able to build strong relationships which positively impact on the future of our students. Achievement and positive attitudes are celebrated and rewarded. We strive to create a happy, harmonious and hard-working Academy in which all students are able to develop and achieve.
All of our staff at the Academy share in the vision and believe that each individual child has the right to be the best version of themselves they can be. We do this by creating quality teaching and learning, positive life experiences, a fair and firm approach to discipline and a wide range of enrichment opportunities so that all children can experience success. The staff share a dedication and commitment to motivate and inspire students to achieve beyond their expectations. We ensure our staff have access to a varied and comprehensive professional development programme to enable us to share good practise, celebrate outstanding teaching achievements and ensure the best in terms of quality of teaching and learning for the students.
By joining Morton Academy you will also become part of United Learning - a unique group of independent and state schools working together to bring out the ‘best in everyone’. Our vision is to provide excellent education, which prepares all young people to progress in their learning and to make a success of their lives.
United Learning focuses sharply on the evidence of what makes it more likely that young people will progress and succeed, applying that to classroom practice and allowing schools to continue to learn and develop. It is a priority to provide teachers with excellent professional support and development, so that every child receives an excellent experience. The approach is underpinned by a sense of moral purpose and commitment to doing what is right for children and young people, supporting colleagues to achieve excellence and acting with integrity in all our dealings within and beyond the organisation, in the interests of young people everywhere.
The development programmes offer access to tailor-made training no matter your career stage, alongside unrivalled opportunities for your career development across both the maintained and independent sectors.
