Morton Academy is committed to providing a broad and balanced curriculum underpinned by excellent teaching and learning with clear and consistent use of assessment.
As a member of United Learning our curriculum is underpinned by the Core Values that drive the organisation:
Our curriculum is designed to promote innovation in teaching and learning whilst remaining rooted in key traditional skills that our students will need to help them make their contribution to society in their later years. Students pick their KS4 Options in Year 9. The strategy is based on a Guided Options principle ensuring all students are well informed about curriculum choices based on prior academic performance, teacher information and relative performance of previous year groups. The Academy offers 3 Options to students to maximise curriculum time with 4 x 50 minute lessons each.
Key Stage 4 is organised slightly differently, taking advantage of the use of Linear Blocking to create more Subject blocking in Core Subjects. This allows for more appropriate setting and intervention strategies to occur.
