MASC (Morton After School Club) opened in February 2011 following requests for after school childcare from parents of pupils at Newlaithes Junior and Infant Schools.

The service offers care for school children until 5.15pm Monday to Friday at the Richard Rose Morton Academy.  Children are collected by walking bus from Newlaithes Junior and Infant School when school ends. Children from other primary schools are welcome, and if sufficient demand exists then arrangements may be made to transfer them to the Academy.

The childcare is led by a team of Play Leaders who make sure that the sessions are educational, fun and safe. The provision is based in a multi activity room, where workshops, activity and art work, quiet time and play can be experienced. The secure gardens can be easily accessed through external doors in the room which offer other dimensions to the sessions. The children enjoy the flexibility of the facilities  that a large school has to offer and the resources we can provide.

If you are interested in visiting the provision, or if you have already decided you want to bring your child here, please contact Dawn Richmond on 01228 822644.

Once we have received funding from our local Neighbourhood Forum we will be running FREE classes in classes for adults in the Morton and Yewdale area. These classes will include ICT, Healthy Eating and Keep Fit. Other classes may be introduced depending on local interest.
