The senior team at Richard Rose Morton Academy share responsibility for the Academy vision, standards and quality.

Each Deputy takes responsibility for elements of the provision, John Marshall takes responsibility for teaching staff and standards, Richard McGuire for pastoral staff and the student experience, which includes curriculum, quality and outcomes.

The teaching staff are based in a Zone, which is led by an Assistant Head and Subject Leaders.

We have 4 Zones, they are:

Logic and Investigation - Maths, Science, Technology, Engineering

Culture and Communication - English, History, Geography, Spanish

Performance and Creativity - Art, Sport, Performing Arts, Public Services

Personal Development - ICT, RE, PSHCE, Business, Media, Health and Social Care, Law

The Zone or Pathway groups together subjects of similar skill or content, and together cover a broad curriculum for students.  As students move through the Academy they may spend more time in one or two Zones, as they specialise their learning towards a particular subject or profession. Each Zone has employment and progression partners so that students have a full experience of what those careers have to offer.

The Academic Team deliver the teaching during the school day and they also offer after school clubs or additional classes. A full calendar of activities is available from the Academy.

The pastoral staff are based in a House, which is led by an House Leader.

We have 4 Houses, they are:

Gelt House Leader: Paula Raine
Eden House Leader: Pam Hannah
Petteril     House Leader: Jackie Simpson
Irthing House Leader: Ann Roberts

Each House is made up of Teams of students, led by a Team Leader. The Team Leader acts as personal mentor and academic coach to your child. The Team Leader meets their Team every day, reminding them of Academy events, their own responsibilities and reinforces the Academy values of Respect, Excel, Aspire and Lead.

The Team Leader is the main point of contact for parents in the Academy. They will contact parents regularly, usually once or twice every half term, with updates about progress. They will meet each member of the Team individually for Student Learning and Progress meetings, to discuss well-being and progress and parents are invited.

In order to keep parents well informed, we also issue a termly grades update and as usual a full report and traditional parents evening.
