Headteacher's Welcome
Richard Rose Morton Academy joined United Learning in September 2014.
The Academy moved into purpose built £27m premises in 2011.
“We are a rapidly improving school for Carlisle families that helps students fulfil their potential and prepare for adult working life in the 21st century. The school has been “under new leadership” since February 2014. Since then we have achieved the Academy’s best ever GCSE results in 2015, with the percentage of students achieving 5A*-C including English and maths rising 13% in one year. In October 2015 the Academy was removed from an Ofsted category, with inspectors commenting positively on the “Dynamic leadership” of the Academy, the rising outcomes and the excellent behaviour of our students.”
As the Academy’s Headteacher, I can genuinely say that it is a pleasure and privilege to come to work. Every day, my colleagues and I have the opportunity to make an actual, positive difference to the life chances and futures of young people.
We benefit from a state-of-the-art learning environment which allows us to offer a student centred, dynamic and exciting school experience that supports the highest standards of academic, vocational and personal achievement. We are becoming the school of choice for many more students in our community, and have a strong and stable leadership team and staff who are taking the school forward at pace.
We are committed to offering every student in our care a happy and supportive education so that each develops, learns and achieves with confidence and enthusiasm. As part of United Learning, we share an ethos summed up in the aim to bring out the best in everyone. And, at Richard Rose Morton Academy, that is exactly what we are looking to do; give every student the skills, education and ambition to be the very best they can be.
We would be delighted to welcome you to our Academy.
